Empowering Gifted Educators: Pathways to Professional Growth and Leadership

As educators of future leaders, it is imperative that teachers of gifted students be given the chance to continually improve their craft. However, advanced professional development and leadership opportunities for gifted educators are rare. This presentation will offer recommendations for teachers who are looking for ways to develop as instructors and gifted advocates, both individually and in conjunction with administrators.

Jessica Potts is the Curriculum Coordinator at Davidson Academy Online, a virtual school for profoundly gifted students. Her doctorate is in Secondary Education, with an emphasis on gifted education and online learning. She is a four-time recipient of the Blackboard Catalyst Award, a winner of the WCG School Global Award Initiative, and is the NAGC Curriculum Studies Chair-Elect.
